Ehrmanns expands Spanish portfolio with Bodegas Palacio wines from Rioja

Ehrmanns has partnered with Rioja winery Bodegas Palacio to become exclusive UK agents for the Glorioso and Cosme Palacio wines.
Bodegas Palacio, which is based in Laguardia, the heart of Rioja Alavesa, was founded in 1894 by Don Cosme Palacio. It forms part of the Grupo Bodegas Palacio 1894, which is one of Spain’s most successful premium wine groups, with estates in D.O.Ca. Rioja, D.O. Ribera del Duero, D.O. Toro, Valladolid and D.O. Rueda.
The winery controls 200 hectares of vineyards and focusses on classic Rioja styles which are 100% Tempranillo, as well as traditional whites from predominantly Viura. The cooler climate and generous rainfall in Rioja Alavesa lends the wines their trademark freshness and elegance.
Ageing is primarily in French oak barrels. Careful grape selection and single vineyard vinification by Rioja born winemaker Roberto Rodríguez ensures wines which are both rich and vibrant in style.
