Tahbilk ViognierEhrmanns invests in the E-commerce channel

Having worked with Mail Order leaders Laithwaites and Virgin Wines for a number of years, Ehrmanns was particularly interested by the emergence of a new trade channel such as the e-commerce. We strongly believe this will go from strength to strength and needs a specific strategy and dedicated team. Rebecca Murphy has been appointed Online Specialist and is looking into developing this particular channel.

The selection available to Online Merchants is directly drawn from our Inbond warehouse and is a mix of good quality, sensibly priced wines and “off the beaten track ” interesting finds such as our Stellar Organics Heaven on Earth “Vin de Paille” style dessert wine, and a broad selection of finds from Italy such as our Miopasso Nero d’Avola which is a unique version of a traditional Ripasso style.

The web is a great tool to sell wines and might be one of the keys to help the industry to reach out to younger drinkers as well as tempting consumers into trying new wines. People can browse in the comfort of their own home and have time to read about stories surrounding the wines. The ease of delivery, and the accessible way the wine information is presented makes it appealing to consumers with varying levels of wine knowledge.
