Visit Ehrmanns at this year’s Wines from Spain tasting on stand n. 21
Ehrmanns is delighted to invite buyers and press to visit their stand at the Wines from Spain tasting in Old Billingsgate on March 21st 2013. This year the stand will be split into two sections, one dedicated to wines exclusive to independents and the on-trade, and the other to grocery and the multiples. Specialists from each area will be on hand to discuss latest developments and NPD’s and how these would benefit the retailer.
Ehrmanns Independent Selection (independents / e commerce / on-trade)
The EIS area will showcase its core range of Spanish wines. Our Sherry producer Williams & Humbert will present the 12yo Collection range of Fino, Amontillado and Oloroso, together with the iconic Solera Especial Dry Sack Medium Oloroso 15yo. Spanish Director Peter J Dauthieu will be present at the stand showcasing a very special fine and rare selection of Sherry alongside with Ortubia Single Estate, from Bodegas Ortubia, Rioja DOC and Bohorquez Reserva from Bodegas Bohorquez, Ribeira Del Duero DO. Godellos and a new Mencia from Bodegas Valdesil, these 2 indigenous grapes from the Northern Spain are revealing great recognition within the UK market both press and trade and revealing Spain’s versatility in winemaking. The wines will be aimed for specialist merchants and higher end On Trade establishments.
We will also be showing Cavas from family owned premium producer Juve Y Camps, its 100% Pinot Noir rose as well as the classic Cinta Purpura and the iconic Reserva de La Familia - a 0% residual sugar Gran Reserva – New vintages will be available to taste and Export Manager Enrique Durández will be on hand to comment. Bodegas Paternina is also to launching its new vintages as well as a new Federico Paternina Seleccion Especial also aimed for specialist merchants and higher end On Trade establishments, export director Carlos Latas will also be available to comment.
Grocery and the multiples
In the Grocery range, Ehrmanns will be showcasing new vintages of Spanish favourite Carta Roja Gran Reserva and Crianza, as well as new additions to the range Carta Roja Tempranillo and Airen Sauvignon Blanc, as well as new vintages of Castilla de Calatrava.
Also new to the portfolio, Valdoro Reserva and Gran Reserva – hailing from the ‘Golden Valley’ Sierra de Valdoro in La Mancha. Made from un-irrigated old bush vine Tempranillo, the wines are modern and fruit forward in style, and offer an excellent quality price ratio. Tapa Roja - two new young and fresh styles of wines – will also be launched at the fair. With the growing trend in modern tapas across the country, the wines have been designed to partner Spanish food. Ehrmanns will also be launching Sierra Alta Monastrell and Monastrell Syrah Crianza, made from old bush vines grown in high altitude vineyards in Yecla, Murcia.
