Wines of the Beautiful South: Visit Santa Carolina on Table 159

10 September 2014

Santa Carolina takes us through a Heritage journey, which together with their quest for constant innovation, results in a stunning array of wines from their key ranges.

While the Estrellas range champions varietal typicity, fruit expression and the versatility of the Rapel Valley, the Reserva Estate range explore terroirs in different regions such as Leyda, Casablanca and Colchagua. All estates are owned and managed by Santa Carolina.

Full of character, the Reserva de Familia wines, of which the Chardonnay and Carmenere will be showcased, convey structure, concentration and complexity.

Santa Carolina icon wines, VSC 2011 and Herencia 2009, also on show, are the best exponents of the Cachapoal Valley, the VSC as a Petit Verdot based blend and the Herencia, as a homage to Chile’s star varietal, Carmenere.

Respect for fruit purity and recovery of long-lost varietals and ancient viticulture techniques, such as dry-farming, have become Santa Carolina’s raison d’etre.

Head Winemaker Andres Caballero will also be in attendance.
