Bodegas Montecillo move to Ehrmanns

Montecillo, Rioja’s third oldest bodega and Fuenmayor’s oldest, has appointed Ehrmanns as its UK agent from September 2022.
Founded in 1870, Montecillo has always been family-owned which has allowed a rich pedigree of artisanal winemaking to develop through six generations, currently under the stewardship of Rocío Osborne. This reflects the family’s approach to optimum bottle ageing which exceeds the region’s average and has been rewarded with over 300 medals and 90pt+ scores in the most prestigious national and international publications and contests.
Speaking about the appointment, Paul Dauthieu said: “The Dauthieu and Osborne families have a long-standing relationship, so we are excited to be able to work in partnership to develop such an iconic brand in the UK. In the first instance, we will be focusing on the Montecillo Clásico range of riojas, an Albariño and Verdejo from Rueda.”
