Ehrmanns to showcase new French additions to its global portfolio at 2016 Portfolio Tastings
26 January 2016
Ehrmanns Portfolio Tastings will return in 2016 and take place in London on the 9th February (The Music Room, Mayfair) and Manchester on the 11th February (The Brindley Room, Castlefield).
Ehrmanns will be showcasing a number of new additions to its global portfolio, including Willow Bridge Estate from Western Australia, L’Olivella from Frascati and for the first time a series of ranges from France.
Buyer Richard Dennis says “We’re dipping our toe into the vast sea that is French wines and expanding our offering with some expressive regional wines from Foncalieu and a distinctive range from Maison Ventenac in Cabardès. We want to bring exciting, fairly-priced wines to the table in such an established and crowded market.”
The portfolio tastings will also be an opportunity for guests to sample wines from Ehrmanns established Iberian agencies that include sherry house Williams & Humbert, cult Cava producer Juve y Camps and Ehrmanns’ longest serving supplier, Bacalhoa from Portugal. New packaging for the Giesen Estate range will also be on display.
The independent and regional on trade are a focus for Ehrmanns and wines exclusive to these sectors will be featured in a mock-up independent wine shop zone. Emphasis in this section will be placed on organic, sparkling and premium wines. In addition, an area will be set aside to concentrate on Ehrmanns’ Beefsteak Club brand.
Mark Chapman, Ehrmanns CEO has said: “We see Ehrmanns annual tastings as a key opportunity to engage with our current customer base and introduce new members of trade to our diverse portfolio. We supply all channels and will be launching a number of new wines and agencies, so there will be plenty to interest those who are familiar and those new to our range.”
