Producer Summary:Bacalhoa is our longest serving supplier, and after 30 years of partnership we still find ourselves bowled over by the quality of their wines. Awarded by a string of international competitions, their range of wines from both Alentejo and Setubal offer unbeatable value for money.
Short Tasting Note:A blend of native Portuguese grapes with Cabernet and Syrah, this is a dense yet elegant wine, packed with black fruit and firm tannins, leading to a long finish.
Long Tasting Note:The best grapes varieties; Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, together with Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah were selected to produce this wine. Meticulous prunning was carried out in the vineyard to control production and after a traditional vinification by grape variety until blending, the wine is then matured in French oak barrels. The final blend has a beautiful deep, dense ruby red colour with a complex nose of black fruit, pleasantly oaked. Full and round on the palate, lots of elegance and length with well-balanced tannins.
