Producer Summary:Founded in 1959, the Adega Cooperativa de Ponte de Lima is situated in the ancient town of Ponte de Lima, Portugal’s oldest town. It represents around 2000 growers, their families and workers, making it one of the major contenders for the increasingly fashionable Vinho Verde within the area. Among white wines, the Loureiro variety is of particular importance due to its magnificent adaptation to the terroir of the Lima valley, making wines highly appreciated for their freshness, fruit and aroma profiles with medium alcoholic strength.
Short Tasting Note:This vinho verde is light and zesty on the palate, an appetizing wine with persistent aromas of lime and hints of melon.
Long Tasting Note:Pale straw yellow with green hues, this vinho verde is light and zesty on the palate, an appetizing wine with persistent aromas of lime and hints of melon, with a lively and refreshing finish.
Awards:2015 IWSC Bronze (2014 Vintage), 2013 Wine Masters Challenge Silver, 2013 IWC Commended
Press Recommendations:"This adega makes one of the best co-operative vinho verdes in the country - a predominantly loueiro grape blend, topped up with trajadura and arinto. With only 11 per cent alcohol, this beautiful, bold, zesty, lime blossom and freesia-perfumed white is perfect with grilled sardines or crispy whitebait." - Jane Macquitty (11th July 2015)
