Williams & Humbert Dry Sherry in the Press

10 November 2016

We have had some excellent recent press coverage for our dry sherries from Williams & Humbert:

Victoria Moore, The Telegraph 15/10/2016, ‘my pick of the best autumn wines’

Williams & Humbert Alegria Manzanilla NV Spain

‘The most delicate of sherries, manzanilla tastes like a gasp of sea air and just-baked sourdough. In her brilliant new sherry ebook, Fiona Beckett suggests drinking manzanilla with fish tacos. Great idea.’

James Viner, Various Regional Publications 10/11/16, ‘What wine to serve with game dishes’

Williams & Humbert 12 Year Old Oloroso, Spain

Sherry is one of my favourite wines. There’s an old Andalusian adage that goes: fino and manzanilla if it swims, amontillado if it flies, and oloroso if it walks. I keep returning to this world class mellow bone dry, rich, caramel, nutty oloroso sherry – developed without recourse to flow – as its’ staggeringly good, amazingly priced and a treat for many kinds of dishes. It will make a great foil for venison dishes, hot game pie, pan-fried Barbary duck, game pates, braised rabbit, roast goose/game birds and braised pheasant. It’s equally astonishing with kippers, meaty curries (eg tandoori chicken), jamon iberico, nuts Gruyere and Tomme de Savoie. Full-bodies, very classy and delicious. Give it a whirl!
