Bodegas Montecillo
Bodegas Montecillo was established in 1870, making it the third winery to be established in Rioja and the first in Fuenmayor.
Fuenmayor is one of the towns with the longest history and tradition in Rioja Alta. Named after the unique landscape, Montecillo (a small hill or hillock), provides the perfect climatic and geological conditions to produce wines of elegance, complexity and balance.
Montecillo has always been family-owned which has allowed a rich pedigree of artisanal winemaking to develop through six generations, currently under the stewardship of Rocío Osborne. This reflects the family’s approach to optimum bottle ageing which exceeds the region’s average and has been rewarded with over 300 medals and 90pt+ scores in the most prestigious national and international publications and contests.
