Santa Carolina

Santa Carolina is one of the oldest wineries in Chile and was established in 1875 by Luis Pereira, who named it after his wife, Carolina Iñiguez. The winery which is still family-owned has become a point of reference in Chile as the standard bearer of wine heritage preservation while being at the forefront of innovative developments. Located in Santiago, the winery owns estates in Maipo, Rapel, Leyda, Casablanca and Colchagua. Santa Carolina is committed to producing wines of consistent quality with a unique and distinctive character.

In its almost 150 years of history, Santa Carolina has been consistently recognised by the press and specialised wine critics. It gained the first international recognition for a Chilean wine, which was awarded to Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon in 1889 at the World Expo in Paris. In  2015, Santa Carolina celebrated its 150th anniversary and was singled out as New World Winery of the Year by the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine.

More recently, Santa Carolina has been named one of the top 10 most powerful wine brands in the world by Wine Intelligence due to a philosophy of innovation and an exciting portfolio which over-delivers on price. The wines regularly score 90+ points in international wine competitions and Herencia has been recognised as one of the top three wines in Chile.
