Williams & Humbert and Viniberia sherries recommended by Jancis Robinson

30 May 2017

In her Purples Pages article titled "Sherry - undiscovered treasure", Jancis Robinson laments how undervalued sherry is and underlines the unique delight that this wine has to offer as an aperitif or as a table wine : "As one of the great wines of the world, unique to Andalucía, sherry is capable of far more nuance than [sweet cream and pale cream styles] and producing the vast array of dry styles is far more difficult than making most other sorts of wines. [...] As Victoria Moore notes in her new book, The Wine Dine Dictionary, 'dry sherry is not just one of the most undervalued wines in the world, it's also a consummate food wine'."

Today's sherry shines as a diverse and versatile dry wine, the quality of which has become increasingly superior as producers follow the trend of making authentic, premium quality wine.

During her first ever Sherry Night tasting held last April, Jancis Robinson and her guests tried 38 different sherries and we are very pleased to announce that a number of Ehrmanns' sherries are in her list of Recommended Dry Sherries !
