Bacalhoa Reds Highly Recommended by Decanter

Bacalhoa wines have recieved high ratings in Decanter magazine’s Alentejo Reds panel tasting. The wines were amongst 82 reds tasted by Sarah Ahmed, Joanna Locke MW and Nick Oakley. Oakley commended that 'the Alentejo is making wines every bit as good as more famous regions.'

 

Bacalhoa Quinta do Carmo, Alentejo 2012, 90 points (Highly Recommended)

A rich, savoury aroma with touches of hay and spice. On the palate there is creamy oak with rich blackcurrant and tobacco with which to complement it, backed by mineral undertones.

Bacalhoa Tinto da Anfora, Alentejo 2013, 88 points (Recommended)

“Floral notes with a blackcurrant and berry fruit palate, with graphite indertones. Rich, plummy and very juicy with a lovely persistence.”
