Juve y Camps Cava recommended by Jamie Goode, Fiona Beckett and Christine Austin
09 December 2015
Juve y Camps Cava has been recommended by leading wine writers in the run up to Christmas. The Reserva de la Familia will also appear on Channel 4 Sunday Brunch, presented by wine educator Raul Diaz, on the 27th December 2015.
“Savoury pastries such as these always work well with sparkling wine and cava has the character to carry the spicy filling; try the elegant, fresh Juve y Camps Reserva de la Familia Brut Nature 2011”
Fiona Beckett, The Guardian, 5th December 2015
Reserva de la Familia: "Prosecco is hot this year, but don’t underestimate Cava. This Reserva Cava is incredible popular in the on-trade, and is a great secret for those looking for something a bit different – and a steal.”
Harpers Choice On Trade, Harpers, December 2015
Reserva de la Familia: "I first encountered Juvé y Camps last year in Barcelona. It’s a sort of ‘cult’ Cava, in that it’s really good, more expensive than regular Cavas, and is a bit of an insiders’ tip. It’s now available in the UK, and while this would never be confused with Champagne (that’s not the point), it is distinctive and quite delicious.
Very fresh and floral with bright citrus fruit aromatics. The palate is fresh and pure with zesty citrus fruit and nice acidity and a lovely twist of aniseed and citrus peel. Real personality here. 92/100"
Jamie Goode, ‘Cult Cava: Juvé y Camps Reserva de la Familia Gran Reserva 2011 Spain’, Wine Anorak Blog November 2015
Reserva de la Familia:"An intense, elegant nose with notes of ripe fruits and of long ageing. Toast and distinguished citrus characters add to its complexity. A creamy mousse is fully integrated into the complex palate, which has a long, lingering finish."
Raul Diaz, Wine Traning, 11th November 2015
Cinta Purpura Brut Reserva: "Rounded, toasty flavours, with just an edge of bitterness on the finish."
Christine Austin, ‘Bubble and Seek’, The Yorkshire Post, 31th October 2015
